Cave Canem

This may be the single most interesting and hardest role I've worked on. Playing Clayton, the late 20s aspiring painter from a majority-Black neighborhood who voted for Trump and now struggles to reconcile his relationship with his Black former best friend, required every element of acting I knew. How to have empathy for a character you disagree with, how to develop a character's physicality, how to project in an intimate scene, how to replicate an emotional performance, even how to weave in and out of subtle light patterns on the stage, you name it, the role demanded it. This is one role that I would love to play again at some point. I'm proud of my work the first time around, but I can't help feeling like there's more to crack.
